Angie or Diane will most likely be the CrossFit instructor you have seen in CrossFit. But what is Marguerita exactly? How do you get through her "Girl WOD"? Continue reading to learn! I will be reviewing CrossFit and giving you the scoop on this "Girl workout".

Angie

The "Angie" workout is an absolute benchmark for CrossFit. A benchmark allows a person to gauge their progress since their last performance. A person who improves in an Angie is generally fitter and more athletic than when they began. This workout is great for increasing muscular endurance and strength. The entire workout takes about 30 minutes. A pull-up bar and space to do push-ups are essential for this workout.

Diane

Diane is the benchmark exercise. It involves a mix of heavy deadlifts as well as handstand pushups. This movement is more technical in gymnastics. This workout challenges your upper body, core, and lower body strength. The prescribed deadlift weight for men is 225 pounds, while the equivalent for women is 155 pounds. These movements can be done for time. The recommended deadlift weight is 225 pounds. Diane was introduced in September 2003. However, it is not a brand new WOD.

Marguerita

It is quite a bizarre workout. It requires you to complete 50 rounds of five different movements with one rep per movement and 250 transitions between the movements. Although there are no specific rules, many CrossFit athletes swear by this workout. Marguerita in Spanish means "Mary" and CrossFit has taken this to heart.


Diane is a "Girl WOD"

The Girls are a name you have probably heard of before. But, do they really exist? These workouts, named after CrossFit women athletes, are designed to push your limits. Here's a closer look at each one. It's a good idea to scale the reps on Angie, and reduce the deadlift weight of Diane if you are new to CrossFit.
